El presente libro es el segundo de tres que componen la obra que trata sobre los Fundamentos de Electrotecnia para Ingenieros. Los tres títulos son:

-Principios Básicos de Electrotecnia (nº 5 de la colección Marcombo Universitaria).
-Corriente Alterna Monofásica y Trifásica (nº 6 de la colección Marcombo Universitaria).
-Motores y Máquinas Eléctricas (nº 7 de la colección Marcombo Universitaria).

Se han estructurado en tres bloques temáticos, cuya secuencia de temas permite alcanzar un nivel elevado partiendo de una base sencilla y fácil de comprender por estudiantes sin conocimientos previos. Dado que la electrotecnia es una ciencia aplicada, se han incluido en todos los temas numerosos ejemplos de aplicación que proporcionan un sentido práctico a los fundamentos teóricos expuestos.

En este segundo libro se estudian, mediante un enfoque claro y sencillo, los circuitos de corriente alterna monofásica y trifásica. Tomando como base el estudio del generador elemental de corriente alterna, se analiza de forma teórico-práctica las magnitudes que caracterizan a una señal alterna senoidal. Para abordar la resolución y el funcionamiento de los circuitos de corriente alterna monofásicos y trifásicos se explica, previamente, el uso del álgebra compleja como herramienta de cálculo. Finalmente se expone como se debe llevar a cabo la medición de las potencias activa, reactiva y aparente y la compensación de la energía reactiva.

Los autores del libro, José Miguel Molina Martínez, Francisco Javier Cánovas Rodríguez y Francisco Asís Ruz Vila, son profesores de la Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena. Su dilatada experiencia les ha permitido elaborar el presente libro, donde se recogen los aspectos teórico-prácticos sobre corriente alterna monofásica y trifásica que cualquier ingeniero, independientemente de la especialidad que curse, debe conocer.

Esta obra se convierte, por tanto, en un texto de referencia para cualquier estudiante de ingeniería y profesional del sector.

Aquest vertigen s'aturarà amb l'explosió final d'aquesta història trepidant i, per damunt de tot, actual, massa actual.
